Manatee Feeds On Bottom Using Its Flippers The manatee's front flippers
are versatile, not only able to hold food but able to root food out of the bottom. When they pick up food they also end up with eating dirt and sand, which eventually wears down their teeth. Water hyacinth normally floats on the surface but this manatee has decided to take the plant down to the bottom where it's easier for it to pin down. |
